Autumn Feast will be a glut for local businesses

The Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce and their Food & Agri Network Advisory Committee continue to have their sights firmly on securing funds from the Toowoomba Regional Council to deliver the Autumn Feast in 2024.
The Toowoomba Chamber in conjunction with local Food Tourism platform Dine Darling Downs have been working for over 12 months to bring this concept together, and the momentum across the business and tourism sectors to create another big event for our city continues to build momentum.

Autumn Feast update

Autumn Feast support grows!

Kristen O’Brien of Dine Darling Downs said, “The support for the event has surpassed my expectations, with over 300 letters of support, a petition in support, and social media reaching over 15,000 people and growing.
“A second major event, which is built from the local community up, has been talked about for years and Dine Darling Downs and the Toowoomba Chamber have committed to making this happen, subject to the financial commitment from Toowoomba Regional Council.

“The inclusive concept of the Autumn Feast is to encompass three elements – Food, Art, and Music all under the one brand.
“The proposal is not just for the city of Toowoomba but for our whole region and is to include the surrounding towns and hamlets of our region, from Yarraman to Crows Nest to Pittsworth to Millmerran to Oakey and everywhere in between”, Kristen expressed.

“The economic impact, even based on our conservative figures, using the reliable and well-established economic impact assessment model identifies a BIG win for the local community and business.
“The estimated positive impact on the Toowoomba economy has been identified as in the order of 14 million dollars.

Todd Rohl toowoomba Chamber CEO

“With the groundswell of community backing for this event for locals run by locals, combined with the economic impact, I believe the local community will be very upset if the financial support requested from Toowoomba Regional Council, to make this event happen, is rejected”, Todd said.
