Toowoomba Conferences secures National Summit
Toowoomba has been identified as the ideal location for the Sustainable Economic Growth for Regional Australia (SEGRA) Summit. SEGRA an independent voice for regional Australia will showcase some of the key economic drivers from the regions including transport and logistics, agriculture, education and healthcare, manufacturing, and tourism, right here in Toowoomba, on the 26 and 27 July 2023.
Toowoomba Chamber Chief Executive Officer, Todd Rohl said, “With an estimated 300 delegates in attendance, the majority of whom will be coming from outside the region, we anticipate an injection of almost half a million dollars into the local economy, which includes more than $100,000 in discretionary spending from attendees.
“We consider the Summit as a win for local businesses in the context of continued interest rate hikes and cost of living pressures which are impacting local consumer spending.
“It is also brilliant to have the commitment from several Albanese government portfolios to attend the Summit, including Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, the Hon Kristy McBain MP.
“The Summit will allow Toowoomba and the region to achieve national exposure and promotion.
“Special thanks to the collaboration and hard work of the SEGRA team and Kim Donaldson who leads our Toowoomba Conferences portfolio, a Toowoomba Regional Council initiative powered by the Toowoomba Chamber.
“Without the power of this partnership and alliance, showcasing Toowoomba and the region nationally would not have been possible”, expressed Todd.
