Toowoomba is Blooming with Opportunity

Each September, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers transforms our city into a celebration of colour, creativity, and community. What began more than seventy years ago as a modest parade has grown into an internationally recognised festival, drawing – 16 September

For the Toowoomba Chamber, the Carnival represents more than flowers – it symbolises the strength of our regional economy. Local businesses thrive as visitors shop, dine, and stay, reinforcing the importance of investing in and celebrating what our city does best.

The event showcases Toowoomba’s unique charm to the world, positioning us as a destination of choice not just in spring, but year-round.

In years gone by, the Chamber has advocated strongly for the introduction of an Autumn Fest – a complementary event designed to showcase our region’s incredible offerings as the leaves change to rich red and gold hues. The aim has always been to extend the economic ripple of the Carnival across the calendar, unlocking autumn, summer, and winter opportunities for businesses to prosper.

With the recent appointment of new Toowoomba Regional Council CEO Sal Petroccitto, we are hopeful that a renewed vision and reinvestment into what’s possible for our region will take shape.

A thriving events schedule not only boosts our visitor economy – it may also encourage investment in four and five-star accommodation options, positioning Toowoomba to take full advantage of the momentum building toward the 2032 Olympic Games.

The Chamber celebrates the Carnival of Flowers as a beacon of what’s possible when community and business come together and we look forward to helping our region bloom in every season.
