Melinda has enjoyed 40 years in Australian entertainment, released a whopping 14 albums and been awarded an unbelievable six CMAA Golden Guitars.  She is a female empowerment activist and is also the newly appointed ambassador for RAMHP (Rural Adversity Mental Health Program).

Not only an award winning singer-songwriter,  she is a  live performer, storyteller and the CEO and founder of Mpower Records.

Melinda is also a fashion designer, has competed on 'Dancing With The Stars' and delivered key-note speeches to empower women across the country. She made her acting debut at the age of 13 in 'A Country Practice', and has recorded songs with John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John and Paul Kelly.  Above all, she’s Sullivan's mum.

Miles for Marcia Race Day | Clifford Park Racecourse

Miles for Marcia celebrates the life of Marcia Carmichael, an amazing lady who cruelly lost her battle to Motor Neurone Disease in 2018.

The charity event was developed by Marcia’s family in an effort to raise money for other families living with MND, to help them with the endless expenses that come with the disease.

This year’s event will be bigger than ever with an amazing guest speaker locked in – Rugby League great, Carl Webb.

Sadly, Carl Webb was diagnosed with MND early last year, nine years after retiring from a successful NRL career.

Since his diagnosis, Carl has dedicated his time to raising MND awareness and generating funds to assist families living with the same disease he’s battling.

Please get your tickets to join us for a wonderful afternoon at the Clive Berghofer Grand Atrium on Saturday, 8 May 2021.

It would mean the world to Marcia’s family for you to come and celebrate her wonderful life and assist in raising money for such a worthy cause.

Toowoomba Orthodontists Pop Up Pallets Makers

All pallet creations will be auctioned off at the Toowoomba Orthodontists Pop Up Pallets event on Friday 18 June to help raise funds for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. Places are strictly limited. Creations need to be dropped off by the maker at the event venue between 9am and 12noon on Friday 18 June.

By registering I agree to abide by the following conditions and understand that if my piece does not comply with the following conditions it will not be included in the Pop Up Pallet event.

Terms and Conditions

  • Strictly one item per organisation or group (including family or school)
  • Maximum 1.5m2 completed size
  • Completed item to be delivered to the event venue (TBC) on Friday 18 June 2021 between 9am to 12noon
  • One event ticket per registration (additional tickets can be purchased)
  • Completed item must comprise of 80% pallet wood
  • Pallet creators are required to source their own pallets or contact the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation if needing assistance.
  • Completed items must be functional in nature - furniture such as coffee tables, outdoor furniture and tables auctioned well at the 2020 event.
