When are the awards?
All details pertaining to the awards will be announced at our April Business@Dusk Event, with the Awards celebration taking place on 11th September 2026
How will confidentially be maintained?
All Awards submissions are entered through a secure online portal, and directly collated by the Toowoomba Chamber CEO, before being provided to 2 independent judges who reside outside of the Toowoomba Region. These judges are contracted to adhere to the strictest confidentiality, and all results and feedback are shared back directly to the CEO.
Do I need to be a member to apply?
The Awards are open to all businesses that operate within the Toowoomba LGA
How are the Awards judged?
Judging will be completed by independent judges who reside outside of the Toowoomba Region.
They will first judge written submissions using a strict scored judging criteria before selecting up to 4 finalists for each category.
These Finalists will be announced at our Finalist announcement function in July.
All finalists will then have an interview/site tour in August where final judging will be completed prior to the winner announcement in September.
Does it cost anything to enter?
There is no cost to enter the Business Excellence Awards, However the Finalist Announcement Function and Awards Evening are ticketed events. These events are a cause for celebration for you and your team – So attendance is highly encouraged. If you cannot attend – We highly encourage you to nominate a member of your team or trusted friend to accept your trophy on your behalf.
What If I don’t provide every item in the application?
This will result in a reduced score and impact your overall chances of winning
I don’t feel comfortable providing my P&L?
We ask for a summary only to substantiate your business success – We are happy for you to provide a letter from your accountant stating sound business viability in lieu of a P&L summary.
How long should my video submission be?
Submissions over the 60 second time limit will result in a reduced score
I’ve reviewed the categories and am not sure which to apply for?
Please get in contact with the chamber who will support with your decision. If you apply for a category when another category is more appropriate, our judges may move your submission at their discretion.
Can I apply for Multiple Categories?
Yes, But we encourage you to place your efforts into responding to the criteria with the category in mind, rather than a generic submission.
